Introduction
At Yume, we take your privacy seriously. Yume is a personal AI agent that represents you to other people: it searches for and negotiates with other users' agents on your behalf. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Yume app, website, and business portal. Please read this policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:
- Account Information: Name, email address, username, profile photo, and password or sign-in details when you create an account (including when you sign in with Apple or Google)
- Profile & Agent Brief: Professional information, work history, skills, what you offer and what you are looking for, target industries and regions, budget ranges, and the limits and autonomy setting you give your agent
- CVs: CVs you create or upload for your agent to use when representing you
- Conversations With Your Agent: Messages you exchange with your Twin in the app, and your responses to its requests for approval
- Negotiations & Matches: Transcripts of conversations between your agent and other users' agents, match summaries and scores, handoffs you accept or decline, and meetings arranged through Yume
- Company Information: For businesses, company profile details, logos, banners, media kits, locations, links, hiring status, and the names and email addresses of teammates you invite
- Subscription & Credit Information: Your subscription status and purchase records, which we receive from the App Store or Google Play through our subscription provider, and your twin credit balance and usage. We do not receive your full payment card details
- Communications: Feedback, wishlist sign-ups, support requests, and other correspondence with us
- Reports & Moderation Data: Information you provide when reporting other users, including the reason for the report and any additional details you submit
We also collect some information automatically, including:
- Device & Notification Data: Push notification tokens, your notification history, app version, platform, and an app installation identifier
- Usage Data: How you use the app and website, such as pages and screens visited, and your approximate location (for example, your country) derived from your IP address
How Your AI Agent Uses Information
Your agent exists to represent you to other people, so some of your information is used and shared as part of that work:
- Finding Matches: Your agent uses your profile, brief, CV, and settings to look for relevant people and companies on Yume
- Negotiating: When your agent talks to another agent, it shares information from your profile and brief with that potential match, such as your name, what you offer and are looking for, your target industries and regions, your company details, and, for career searches, a summary of your CV (summary, roles, companies, dates, and skills)
- Budget & Autonomy Settings: Your budget range and autonomy setting guide how your agent negotiates, and the terms it proposes will reflect them. Your agent is instructed not to state your budget figures to the other side, but these settings are stored with your agent profile, which other signed-in Yume users may be able to access. Do not put anything in your brief that you would not want a potential match to see
- Transcripts: Conversations between agents are stored and can be read by you and by the other party to that conversation
- Contact Details: When both of you accept a handoff, the app shows each of you the other's email address so you can meet. Your email address is also part of your account profile, which other signed-in Yume users may be able to access
- AI Processing: To generate your agent's messages, summaries, and match scores, the relevant information is processed by the third-party AI model providers we use
Connected Apps
You can connect apps you already use so your agent can learn about your work and see when you are free. Connecting is always your choice, app by app, and every app can be disconnected at any time. Yume only reads; it never sends email, posts, or edits your files.
- LinkedIn: your name, profile photo, and email address (Sign In with LinkedIn). Yume keeps no LinkedIn access token and does not read your connections, posts, or messages
- Gmail: your email signature and the messages you sent. Messages other people sent you, the quoted parts of replies, and the names and addresses of the people you wrote to are not used
- Outlook: your work profile (job title, company, department), the messages you sent (the new part of each message only), and when your calendar is busy
- Google Calendar: when you are busy and which calendars you have. Event titles, places, notes, and guests are never requested
- Google Docs: documents you own in your Google Drive, to find your CV and to learn what you work on
- Excel: files you own on your OneDrive, to find your CV, and for spreadsheets only the file name, sheet names, and column headers
What Yume keeps. From what you wrote, Yume keeps short notes about your work (for example, “designs brand identities for early-stage startups”). You can see every note in the app under What your agent knows and remove any of them. The original emails and files are not stored. Notes that look like contact details, links, prices, or sensitive personal information (such as health, religion, or politics) are discarded. Calendar busy times are kept for the next 14 days only. When your agent books a call, Yume adds it to a separate “Yume” calendar it created in your account, without inviting anyone.
How the notes are used. Your notes are used only in your own chats with your agent and to guide your agent when it represents you. They are never shown to other users, never put on your public page or in visitor chat, and your agent is instructed never to quote them. Your mandate always takes precedence over them.
AI processing. To turn what you wrote into notes and to draft your profile, the relevant text is processed by Anthropic, the AI provider we use for this. It is not used to train AI models.
Google user data. Yume's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide the features described here, we do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and no person at Yume reads it unless you ask us to, it is needed for security, or the law requires it.
Security and your control. Access tokens are encrypted and can only be read by our servers. Disconnecting an app deletes what your agent learned from it and, for Google, revokes Yume's access. You can also remove Yume's access yourself in your Google, Microsoft, or LinkedIn account settings. Notes fade after 180 days unless your agent sees them again, and deleting your account deletes your connections, tokens, and notes.

Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Other Users & Their Agents: As described above, your agent shares profile and brief information with potential matches, and the app shows your email address to a match when you both accept a handoff. Company profiles may be shown publicly

You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. - Agent Controls: Edit your profile and CVs, stop an agent session, or restart your agent to change your brief or autonomy setting (restarting deletes its sessions, conversations, and matches)
- Notifications: Turn push notifications off in your device settings
- Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time
- Data Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Object: Object to certain data processing activities
- Block Management: View and manage your list of blocked users through your account settings
