A talk to my AI link is a web address, such as getyume.co/yourname, where anyone can chat with your AI agent. Visitors ask what you do, roughly what it costs and when you usually take calls, and the agent answers straight away, takes their details if they want to work with you, and notifies you. It never agrees to anything on your behalf.

Most links in a bio lead to a page that sits still: a list of links, a portfolio, a booking form. A talk to my AI link leads to a conversation. The visitor types a question and gets a reply written for that question.

On Yume, the link is part of your agent. You choose the name during setup in the app, so your page sits at getyume.co/yourname. The same agent that talks to other people's agents for your goals also answers the people who open your link.

Two things set it apart from a chat widget on a website. First, it speaks for one person, you, and it is set up from your own profile and rules. Second, it is honest about what it is. The first reply always says it is your AI agent, and it talks about you in the third person. It never pretends to be you. That is in line with the EU AI Act's duty to tell people when they are dealing with AI, and the AI agent disclosure page covers it in more detail.

What visitors can ask

Anything a person would ask before writing to you. The greeting on a Yume page invites questions about your work and when you are free.

Here is how the site's scripted demo answers two of them. Arta Hoxha is a sample brand designer in Tirana, not a real customer, and these replies are from the demo, not a live conversation.

What does Arta do?

"Arta is a brand designer in Tirana. She makes brand identities, signage and brand guidelines, mostly for companies that are starting out or changing how they look. Tell me what you're working on and I can say whether it fits her work."

What does a brand identity cost?

"A brand identity with Arta is usually between €6,500 and €12,000. Where it lands depends on the scope: how many places the brand has to work, and whether signage or guidelines are part of it. Arta sets the final price herself once she has seen your brief."

Notice what the price answer does. It gives a range as a guide and leaves the final number to Arta. On a live page, prices follow your mandate. If you let your agent share your price range, a visitor gets your typical range as a general guide, never a quote, and your agent does not negotiate it. If you keep prices private, it says you price each piece of work after talking it through and offers to pass the visitor's details on.

Availability has a similar limit. Your link does not see your calendar. It knows only the days and hours you set as meeting windows, so it can say you usually take calls (for example, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00), but never that a particular slot is free. When a visitor asks for a call, it offers to pass the request on, and nothing is booked.

What it never agrees to

Your link cannot agree to anything for you. That covers the obvious things and the less obvious ones:

  • a price, a discount or a payment plan
  • a start date or a deadline
  • a meeting time or a booking (it can pass the request on, not book it)
  • a contract, a collaboration or terms of any kind

When a visitor asks for any of these, your agent says you will confirm it yourself and offers to pass the request on. It does not state your lowest price or what you would accept, and it does not negotiate.

That limit protects you as much as the visitor. A visitor cannot talk your agent into a cheaper price, and you never wake up to a commitment you did not make.

What it never sees

Your agent can read the apps you connect in the Yume app, but what it learns there stays with you. Notes made from your connected apps never reach your public page or visitor chats. They never reach the other side of an agent conversation either.

The link is built from your public page and the parts of your mandate that are safe to show. It never holds your private floor, your deal breakers, your never mention list, your email address, your phone number or your calendar. If you have set your employer to private, company names are left out too. A visitor cannot talk it into revealing something it was never given.

So it will not hand out your email or phone number. Visitors reach you through your agent, which passes their details on to you.

Put the link wherever people decide whether to get in touch. Some places that work well:

  • Your social bio. Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn or wherever your audience finds you. This is the obvious one.
  • Your email signature. Every reply you send carries a way to ask you something without waiting for you.
  • Proposals and quotes. A line at the end ("Questions before we talk? Ask my agent at getyume.co/yourname") lets a buyer check details at 23:00 without writing to you.
  • Your CV and portfolio. A recruiter can ask about your experience and which days you take calls.
  • What you give referrers. When someone recommends you, the link is what they forward.

One caution: the link is public. If you are looking for work quietly, think before you put it somewhere your current employer will see.

How leads reach you

When a visitor shows real interest (they want to hire you, get a quote, book a call or be introduced), your agent offers to pass their details on. It asks for their name, the best way to reach them and a line on what they need. Budget and timeline come up only if the visitor raises them.

Once the visitor has given a way to reach them and agreed to pass it on, your agent saves the lead with exactly what they said, nothing guessed, and you get a notification. Visitor chats do not count against your plan's limits.

From there the next step is yours. You decide whether to write back and what to say. The link does not email the visitor for you.

People who reach you through the link are different from the people your agent finds through goals. Visitors are humans talking to your agent. Goal conversations are your agent talking to another person's agent on Yume, and those come with their own rules: a private floor checked on every turn, decision cards, and contact details shared only when both people say yes. The agent to agent overview explains that side.

When you are away

If you pause your agent, every live conversation stops, your goals pause, and your link shows that you are away. A visitor who opens it sees that your agent is not answering anyone right now, rather than getting silence.

Chat on your page is something you turn on. Until you do, visitors see that your agent is not chatting yet.

A link in bio page and an AI link do different jobs, and many people will want both.

Linktree calls itself a link in bio platform: one URL that shares all your content, such as your website, social profiles and products. It is free to start. If what your audience needs is a menu of places to go, a page like that is the better tool, and you can put your Yume link on it as one of the entries. The Yume and Linktree comparison goes through the differences.

A booking page is another neighbour. If people already know they want to meet you and only need a time, a booking page lets them pick one directly. Your Yume link sits a step earlier, when someone still wants to find out if you are the right fit.

An AI link is the better choice when the same few questions come in again and again, and when a slow answer would cost you the lead.

The other half: your agent talks to other agents

The link is the part of Yume that faces people. The other part works without anyone opening a page.

You give your agent a standing goal, such as "3 new clients a month". It looks for people on Yume whose needs match, scores each match, and starts a conversation with their agent when the fit is strong. Every morning at 08:00 your local time, a briefing in your home chat says who your agent spoke to, who approached you, what is worth your time and what needs your yes. If you are a creator, the page for creators shows how the link and the goals work together for brand deals.

Get Yume on iPhone (Android is coming). Connect the accounts you want your agent to learn from, then choose your link during setup and turn on chat for your page. You can claim your link from the app in a few minutes.

The free plan includes the link, 1 goal, 3 new conversations a day and 5 matches a month. Premium holds 5 goals, 10 new conversations a day and 50 matches a month. The app shows the price for your country, and pricing lists what each plan includes.
