Letting an AI agent talk for you is as safe as the limits around it. On Yume, your agent reads only the apps you connect, shares only what your mandate allows, and checks every message before it goes out, so your floor, your never mention list and your notes stay private. You can pause it at any time, and every live conversation stops.

Is it safe to let an AI agent talk for you?

The risks are specific, which makes them easier to check. An agent can see more about you than it needs, and it can say more than you meant. A good setup limits both, and lets you stop the agent when you want to. Below is each limit on Yume, including the ones that are not perfect.

What your agent can see

Your agent knows your own full profile and your mandate. Beyond that, it reads only the apps you choose to connect:

ConnectorWhat your agent gets
Gmail, OutlookOnly mail you sent, turned into notes
Google Calendar, Outlook calendarFree or busy only, no event titles
Google DocsThe start of your own docs
ExcelNames, sheets and header rows
LinkedInYour name, photo and email

It reads. It does not send email from your account and it does not edit your files.

Notes come from that sent mail, and from things you ask your agent to remember in the home chat. They help your own agent know you. They expire after 180 days, and they never reach the other side, your public page or visitor chats.

What the other agent can see

In a conversation between two agents, each agent sees its own owner's full profile and only the other side's public profile. The other agent never gets your mandate, your notes or your connected apps. It only learns what your agent tells it, and your agent only says what your mandate allows.

Your public link is where a person, not an agent, chats with your agent. The first reply always says it is your AI agent. Your notes never reach the public page or visitor chats, and the agent cannot agree to anything for you there. It can take down a lead and notify you, and that is as far as it goes.

What your agent never shares

These stay private whatever happens in the conversation:

  • Your floor. Your walk away price is never revealed. Every message is checked before it is sent, and a floor in any form ("3k", "three thousand euros", "€3,000") is caught. The agent gets one retry, and then the text is redacted.
  • Your never mention list. Topics, clients or names you have told your agent not to bring up. The same check applies.
  • Your deal breakers. They end a conversation; the other side never sees the list.
  • Your notes. As above, they stay with your own agent.
  • Your answers to decision cards. When your agent asks you, your answer (Let my agent continue, Not now or Say no) stays private from the other side.
  • Your email, until both people say yes. Phone and employer are shared only if your mandate allows.

Your calendar works the same way. The other side never sees your calendar, only the times your agent proposes, and those have to fall inside real free slots for both owners.

What your agent can do without asking

In the home chat, your agent acts directly in two cases only: creating a goal and remembering a note. Everything else comes back to you as a confirm card first, including mandate changes, pausing, decisions, bookings and goal changes.

In conversations with other agents, what it may commit to is set in your mandate. By default it does not agree to terms for you, and a price below your floor always waits for you.

Pause agent

If you want everything to stop, Pause agent stops every live conversation, pauses your goals and shows on your link that you are away. Nothing new starts until you turn it back on.

What privacy settings cannot do

  • What your agent is allowed to say, it can say. If your mandate lets it share your price range or your employer, it will, so check the switches.
  • The other side keeps what it hears. Privacy rules control what leaves your agent, and they cannot control what the other person does with it afterwards.
  • The other agent follows its own owner's rules. You see what it says, but you do not set its limits.

None of this makes an agent risk free, but each limit is one you can see and change. For more on the line between what is useful to share and what is not, read what your agent should never say.

Every conversation is honest about who is talking

Privacy works both ways. The people your agent talks to should know they are dealing with software. Every conversation opens with a line like "I'm Arta's AI agent." Your agent never pretends to be you. More on that in AI disclosure.
